Barn Loft Grill

The Barn Loft Grill is now open! Get Slow Food Fast!
It's an Old Fashioned Idea.

Amish AcresThe friendly folks at Amish Acres Barn Loft Grill have heated up the open flame, put the soup in the kettle, and made fresh lemonade for its opening for the 2008 season. This seat's for you.

Order from the menu below (we're happy to have you call ahead if your are hurried). But the best way to enjoy your lunch hour is to relax amid the hand hewn beams of the old barn grill. Seated at Black Hitchcock chairs around spacious tables looking out over the farm's orchard, you'll enjoy luncheon specials made for the finest and freshest ingredients we can find.

The Barn Loft Grill serves soup, salads, and sandwiches from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m, Monday through Saturdays.
Spring and Fall hours and days open may vary.

Here are some old fashioned ideas about lunch. We make vegetable soup using fresh vegetables (cabbage, carrotts, tomatoes, peas, onions, and simmer it to just the right texture), we ripen the tomatos on the window sill, and serve our the usual expected salad dressings including ranch and French; but you will want to try our own assortment of dressings featuring Vidalia onion with Peppercorn, Creamy Ranch, Cucumber and fat free Summer Tomato plus Vanilia Peach.

Amish AcresOur grill is open flame, we serve pumpkin bread with your salads, make corn chower with Brenda's recipe, fried sliced sweet potatoes with apple butter for dipping, make our own croutons in the oven, use mixed greens (dark and light), really. Sweet onion rings are hand cut to generous size and lightly breaded daily. Freida and the Amish girls bake our own buns in the bakery every day. Smoked sausage is a treat you won't find in town. The sassafras iced tea and lemonade are served with fresh mint leaves from the farm.

Jack loves lunch at the Grill because he's starved as soon as kindergarten is over for the day (he doesn't really eat soup and salad; he's more of a chicken fingers and hot dog kind of guy). And when the weather is just right (will it ever be again?), take your lunch outside and have a picnic in the orchard amid the crab apples and pear trees.

Keep in mind that on select Friday nights the grill is magically converted to white table cloth fine dining featuring the Theme Buffets for The Round Barn Theatre's repertory musical shows. You can find the show schedules and menus at AmishAcres.com and make reservations including picking your theatre seats online.
