The Joseph Stein Young Actors Studio was created in 2007 as Northern Indiana’s first professional musical theatre training for kids. It is named in memory of the author of Plain & Fancy and The Round Barn Theatre's mentor.
In its first year, the summer day camps centered around Disney’s High School Musical. Campers have traveled to Amish Acres from the likes of Bloomington, Carmel, Valparaiso, Fort Wayne, New Carlisle, Griffith, and Edwardsburg, Michigan; not to mention Bristol, Plymouth, Rochester, Granger, Goshen, Elkhart, Nappanee, and Wakarusa.
Not only do campers perform on the Round Barn Theatre’s proscenium stage, but they have also interact with professional instructors taken from directly from The Round Barn Theatre's core company! From pizza parties and wagon rides to spelling bees in the one room schoolhouse and tours of the costume and set shop, the campers experience musical theatre from top to bottom. Friendships are made while talent is developed and honed.

The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is a collection of stories by English Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling. The stories were first published in magazines in 1893-94. The original publications contain illustrations, some by Rudyard's father, John Lockwood Kipling. Kipling was born in India and spent the first six years of his childhood there. After about ten years in England, he went back to India and worked there for about six-and-half years. These stories were written when Kipling lived in Vermont.
