She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. A Note from the Director…

Mike Fielder

Welcome to the Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres and our production of Legally Blonde.  Muhammad Ali, the professional boxer and activist once stated: “Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.” Elle Woods, our heroine, learns the true meaning of friendship tonight demonstrating her perseverance, wit, vivacity, and unfailing loyalty to her “sisters” all the while, maintaining her style and flair.  More importantly she’s a young woman who unearths a deeper friendship, a friendship with herself discovering a deeper inner strength and strength of self.  That’s the essence of being Legally Blonde. The musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon & Luke Wilson. My roommate and I used to celebrate our friendship by curling up on the couch with popcorn and watching this film together.  The Broadway musical based on the movie opened at the Palace Theater on April 29, 2007 and has run for 595 performances, with Laura Bell Bundy starring as Elle Woods. At today’s performance we hope you leave the theater with a smile on your face, song in your heart and a little pep in your step.  This musical wants nothing more.  But I’d ask you’d call up an old friend and let them know how much they still mean to you. So whether you’re a ginger, brunette, blonde or bald, “go home and be legally blonde!”
